Back to the Basics

Building a strong foundation is key to succeeding in Math. Some students struggle to grasp the basics that are often quickly reviewed at the beginning of the year. Without these skills, students struggle to move on to more difficult concepts.

This Course Will Cover Concepts Such As:

  • Place Value of Whole Numbers and Decimals

  • Rounding/Ordering/Comparing Whole Numbers and Decimals

  • Relationships between Whole Numbers, Fractions and Decimals

  • Attaining Fluency in Computation of Whole Numbers

  • Introduction of Computation with Decimals

  • Fraction Sense - GCF, LCM, Equivalent Fractions, Mixed Numbers, Improper Fractions, Etc.

    Mastering these skills will better equip students to master computation and application of decimals and fractions in 5th Grade.

Recommended For:

  • Most Rising 5th Graders

  • Rising 6th Graders who have struggled with basic skills and number sense

Course Length: Six Sessions, Tuesdays at 4:00pm, beginning June 3rd

Format: On-line, students will need access to a laptop or tablet or phone
